If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough

I know I am not the only person who lays in bed at night, laptop in hand, in a darkened room browsing the internet looking for the one thing that always makes us feel better....Videos of people falling down!
What is it that instantly makes me laugh about an overweight middle aged lady at a wedding reception who gets completely carried away on the dance floor and takes out half the party before doing a faceplate into the cake? Why do I seem to get so much pleasure out of what appears to be others people's misery? I mean, I am sure there are people out there who are genuinely concerned about these people and whether they got hurt. I am not one of them.
I sat once, trying to explain to my Mom about a German TV show where they showed people testing a waterbed that was actually a trap and when the people would propel themselves back they would end up underwater. Well I laughed so hard trying to explain this to her that I peed and could not even formulate a proper sentence. Then as I showed her the video from the internet we both laughed so hard that we were rendered completely useless.
My Mom and I definitely share the same sense of humour and I suspect most people do. In today's world of political correctness we sometime have to hide in the closet and laugh on our own. We cannot just publicly laugh and some dude who falls down in the supermarket. I most often do.
Im not good at keeping my feeling and laughter to myself. I am the worst for laughing at inappropriate situations. I don't make eye contact with anybody at weddings or funerals as it more often than not leads to me making a fool of myself in a fit of that silent, shaking laughter that that is interrupted by a loud fart in a room with great acoustics.
Laughing is healthy, despite the fact that it is often at the cost of someone else. I mean, if you don't want people laughing at your expense then don't post the video.
Every time I watch Scarlet take a tumble (google it) I enjoy it as much as the first time.
Whenever I want to pee myself laughing I watch the funny electrocution prank. (google it)
I have dozens of these videos that I watch repeatedly and I laugh and laugh. I also an known to force whoever is with me to watch them as well. If they don't laugh as hard as me I simply assume they missed a part and make them watch it again until I get the response that I wanted! I'm that kind of friend.
Finally as I log off to watch some videos of people falling down, I want to remind you, that if we are ever out and you fall, I will laugh. If we are walking down the street and you do a face plant into a puddle, I will laugh. If we are running to catch a flight and you take a tumble on that moving sidewalk, I will laugh. Again, I am just that kind of friend. xo
